Late on August 16, 2012 MnDOT opened the section of Hwy 5 from 78th Street East to Hwy 41. Crews are still working on grading and other finalizing operations so please drive carefully. In a week or so they will do the final striping. The asphalt needs needs to cure first so the paint sticks better.
As planned, the road has additional turn lanes, wider shoulders and better water management, along with other improvements.
The sink hole and bridge work is scheduled to be complete August 30th. Please continue to use caution when driving on Steiger Lake Lane as our local alternate route.
